Diversity Council Workshop: Facing History And Ourselves Teaching Wonder

Kean Diversity Council is happy to have Facing History And Ourselves Teaching Wonder workshop.

Wonder: The Challenge of Difference

R.J. Palacio’s bestselling young adult novel Wonder tells the story of Auggie, a 10-year-old boy who was born with distorted facial features, as he enters a mainstream school for the first time. Can this ordinary kid with an extraordinary face convince his new classmates at Beecher Prep that he’s just like them, despite appearances?

Using the novel and its accompanying teacher guide, workshop participants will explore topics such as inclusion and exclusion, difference, and multiple points of view. Participants will also receive complementary Facing History resources.
